Florida Panthers Threatened by Big Cypress Project
The Collier County Big Cypress Project has been informed that it could devastate the enviornment for the state's remaining 100 or so panthers. Collier County is said to be the base for this species and this massive project could tip the species towards extinction.
The project is aimed at benefitting the Seminole Tribe with water management
systems going in place, flood protection, 25,000 homes and a build-up
of the population in the area towards 50,000 over a period of 25/30
yrs.
Florida Panthers are critically endangered. These concerns have been made known to Collier Enterprises who are the developers who have undertaken to take these matters into consideration.
