The Nubian Ibex is thought to be down to approx 100 remaining animals of this now critically endangered species. This figure is down from an estimated 1,200 world population in 1986.

Predators for this animal include birds of prey and man. The ibex is sought after for its meat, and hunted for its horns for trophies.

The species is thought to have disappeared entirely from some of its Middle Eastern habitats and is now widely scattered and at great risk of extinction.
